The per-category staleness record at /api/freshness.json. Three statuses per category: fresh, stale, critical.
Freshness Ledger publishes how current the corpus is for every arXiv category the platform tracks. Each entry shows hours-since-last-ingest, the paper count, and one of three statuses (fresh / stale / critical). It powers the freshness pill in the UI and informs Answer Engines that the data is live.
